The Vela Maritime Watch series has been designed with life on the open ocean in mind. They incorporate iconic maritime elements such as a compass, plimsoll line and telegraph machine.
From compass to watch
Vela Watches is a small company started in November 2016 by entrepreneur and former first mate, Dávur Nielsen.
Dávur gripped the idea for the Vela Maritime Watch series while on a night watch at sea. He sketched a compass that slowly evolved, and suddenly the idea of a watch was born. Appropriately, he named the watch collection Vela, Latin for 'sail'.
